[T] Using Components in Flash MX
Samuel Wan, AIU Online
The use of components involves more than simply dragging and dropping components onto a stage. A few well-placed lines of ActionScript code can glue various components into a cohesive, useful interface. In this session, Samuel walks through strategies for building complex user interfaces with components and ActionScript programming. A basic level of ActionScript knowledge is recommended, but beginners will also have the opportunity to observe a useful Flash application built from scratch in less than 40 minutes.

Side Notes:
The presentation contains several documents and Flash MX source files. A large part of these documents come from the book "Object Oriented Programming With Actionscript" by Branden Hall and Samuel Wan. I'd like to thank New Riders Press for permission to redistribute a small part of that chapter.

If you're interested in taking your Actionscript skills to the level of application development, look for our book, "OOP Actionscript" and check it out for yourself! We will unveil the book's website in August, and also make available some source code and bonus chapters.
